Available in generic form since 1982, Reglan is also sold in the U.S. under the brand name Maxolon and other names. Despite the many studies showing that Reglan was associated with tardive dyskinesia, the drug's manufacturers did place a warning on the label until 2004, and did not add the Black Box warning until February 2009.
