Systems Work, People Fail...It's That Simple!
I have been in business, on and off, since I was 15 years old. I have been the most successful at it the last couple of years; working full time from home.
There were moments of insanity that I worked for other people, but it has either been a training ground for me, or an in-between while I developed new business skills.
Most recently I replaced a six figure income that took me ten years of training to earn, with a home business that I developed in 5 months, all the while, working 73% less.
Where did it all start?
Being an entrepreneur has always been in my blood, my Dad has always been an entrepreneur and has done everything; the Franchise Transmission Business, Owned Insurance Companies, taking companies to the Stock Market, creating a Waste Water Treatment Business, even owning Placer Gold Mines.
I learned that there are a multitude of ways to make money, but one thing is for sure, the only way to make serious money, is to work for yourself.
Working a job has its benefits, yes, but it is really designed to serve the interest of the business owner who is offering the jobs to people. The people who are willing to do the work are taking on tasks that the owner is not willing to do themselves.
The employers are not doing anything wrong, we all need employees of some sort, but the benefits are really to be had, as the business owner because of the massive advantage of leverage that business owners have.
In a job, the employee is usually paid between 20% - 25% of what they make in profit for the company. 55% - 60% of the remaining profit, pays the bills, company upgrades and over head while the rest, usually 20% - 25%, is left for the business owner.
You see, the business owner makes as much off of you as you do, but you did the work!
This is why if you are currently making $60,000.00 per year in a job, you are actually generating $300,000.00 (maybe more) per year in revenue for the company; $60,000.00 of the $300,000.00 that you generated goes to the owner of the company.
So many people in the workforce, have this limiting belief on what it is that they are worth, well, know this, you are worth way more, than the money you take home every month.
Now, there are advantages and disadvantages of being an employer; we introduced the advantages of being in a position of leverage (making as much off of your employees as they make for themselves) the biggest disadvantage of having a traditional business is having the employees.
Employees are expensive and typically only produce at an efficiency of between 40% - 60% of their potential, even less in some cases.
The self-employed business model is where everyone working for the company is the "owner" of their individual job, this takes care of a couple of things; the employee, now "business owner" is getting paid more because their self esteem is higher. Their efficiency goes way up, often times to 80% or 90% because they now have a stake in the success of the company and as a result, everyone makes more money.
In this model, everyone is individually responsible for their own enterprise and basically, if you do not do the work, you do not make the money.
Well, this is basically the model that the home business industry is based on.
You are your own boss, you are just representing the company as an owner, rather than an employee. Now, you are willing to do more, work harder and pay better attention to the quality of your work, so now there is less over head.
Why?
Well now there is no need for managers (babysitters to watch over the employees), no need for an office (observation ward to allow the managers to ensure the employees are doing their job), no need for benefits (you are making two, three, four, or ten times what you used to make, so you pay for your own), no need for book keepers (to manage your taxes, you have an accountant and pay half the taxes you used to); all of these money sucking, traditional business overhead costs are eliminated as an expense, so now there is much more profit to enjoy.
The company makes more AND you make more, this is called win-win!
The economy actually does better too; because you are making more, you will spend more and because you are spending more, more people are making more money and so on.
I am sure you agree that this is a much better business model; interestingly, it actually goes back to before the industrial revolution when getting a "Job" was actually being hired as an individual, to provide a product or service, on a one-off basis.
The industrial revolution created the "permanent" or "full time" job, so that you did not have to go out looking for your own jobs. The business owner would take the "risk" of going out and finding "jobs" for full time jobbers but would pay these jobbers less because they may not have jobs for them to do, but would still pay them anyway.
Times have changed, if there is no work, you get laid off, but the employer still keeps that extra money, makes the remaining employees work harder and longer when there are more jobs to do because they create the illusion of "Job Security" (which is actually an oxymoron) and make the employees think that this is what they have to do to keep their job.
This is conformity at it's best; people are working a job because "everyone else is" they are moving likes sheep in a flock.
So, wake the flock up!
Realize that you are worth so much more than what your employer is paying you and understand that there are systems in place in the home business industry that will ensure you have success; you just have to show up and do your job.
I hope this article has shown you that instead of being paid as an employee, you will make more money as a home business owner.
