Everyone wants to make sure there whole family is protected. Many people look into getting self defense products for their family but at times it can be hard to know what to get. This is especially true if you have younger children. You want to make sure they are protected but you don't want to hand them a stun gun or some pepper spray. So today I want to give you some of the self defense options that you have for every member of the family.

I'll start off with the younger members of the family. There are a couple good choices depending on how old they are. If you have really little ones that you are worried will wander off when you are out in public than you are in luck. There is a product known as the Panda alarm sold by many online companies. It consists of two pieces. The first is a pendant that you attach to your child's clothing. The other piece is a receiver that you keep with you. If your child begins to wander away from you an alarm on the receiver will go off letting you know they are going too far away. The best part is you can select the range yourself so you have complete control.

If you kids are a little older than a personal alarm is a great choice. It easily attaches to a key ring so it can go with them everywhere. If they find themselves in trouble than all they need to do is hit a button on the device and a very loud alarm will sounds alerting people nearby there is trouble. Most criminals do not want people watching when they attempt to do something. When that alarm goes off everyone will be looking that direction. Chances are the criminal will not stick around.

Now we move onto mom and dad. There are two different choices I would suggest. I'm sure you have heard of both but it is always good to know how effective they are. These two choices are stun guns and pepper spray. Both can be very effective self defense tools that are inexpensive.

Before you pick on you need to know if they are legal where you live. Some states have restrictions on pepper spray or stun guns so make sure you contact your local police department.

Pepper spray can work from up to 10 feet away so you do not need to be up close and personal with the attacker. It is also effective at taking down and attacker within a matter of seconds. However, it does have a couple draw back. If it is windy outside than you risk having it blow back into your face which is not fun. It is also recommended that you do not use it in doors because you could end up breathing it in.

Stun guns are also very effective devices. However, with stun guns you need to make contact with the attacker in order for it to work. There are many types of stun guns that you can pick from. They also have a wide range of voltages you can pick from. All the way from 50,000 volts up to 3 million volts. They cost a little more than pepper spray but they work great.

As you can see if you want to protect you whole family than you have plenty of choices to make that happen. So it's time to go do a little research and get your whole family protected.
