The harpsichord and clavichord were found during 14th century, of which clavichord was invented first. To get the three tone sound among F and B, a flat key for B was fixed, after which some more semi tones were supplemented to it. These two types of key boards were used very commonly among all till the invention of the piano during the 18th century. The piano played a vital role among all the instruments of keyboard. Various types of sounds can be obtained from piano and thus it has created a revolution. Each and every key of the piano gave a different sound.

Electronic organ was considered as the complete keyboard that has the electronic features. But this keyboard used the oscillators and the frequency dividers along with the filters to get the waveforms. This was followed by the introduction of electric and electronic piano.
