Sometimes the most thoughtful and inexpensive gifts are the ones that you can make yourself. It can be as simple as making a scrapbook of pictures of the mother-to-be. Or why not write a short poem and have it framed? Don’t worry if you don’t consider yourself a great writer, as long as it comes from the heart it’s sure to be cherished for a long time.
Books are another great option. These are not only inexpensive but educational. Even though the baby won’t be able to actually read them, babies always love looking at the pictures! Just me sure to purchase cloth books that will be safe for the baby to handle. Books will also help the baby’s hand-eye coordination and ability to focus.
Another idea is to make a recording of children’s lullabies to give as a gift. If you’re gifted enough you can play the instruments yourself. If not you can just sing yourself. You don’t need to have a great voice to sing children’s songs after all! Music also can help in the development of the baby. Among other things it can help in the development of language skills and vocabulary. Music also creates a happy environment around the house that’s sure you help mood of both mother and child.
It can be both fun and rewarding when you find the perfect baby shower gift, even when it doesn’t cost a fortune.
