Painting the walls in different colors sure makes a difference but why not go out and look for a wall mural that depicts what your teen likes the most? Apart from the basics, changing the wall décor can revamp any space.

Decide on a theme and choose something that your teen is passionate about. Work together and come up with ideas for decorating your teen’s room. The possibilities of designing a room are endless, so choose from a variety of themes and experiment with out-of-the-box ideas to create a wall mural that highlights your wall décor. Below are some ideas for wall murals to complement your teen’s room.

Sports
Teenage boys would usually opt for a sports mural depicting their favorite sport. It can either be their favorite team or a sport that he is extremely passionate about. Go for a self-adhesive sports mural or even a mural of a sportsperson that he idolizes. You can even stencil some phrases or commonly-used sports related terms on the walls. Pennants that show support for their favorite baseball team would work wonderfully well as wall décor.

Music
Determine a particular theme or era in music and paint the walls with musical elements. Add song notes, lyrics or even the logo of your favorite band to showcase an attractive, musical backdrop. If you want to be creative, paint wall murals that depict the album cover of your teen’s favorite band.

Abstract Art
Abstract art is available in a variety of designs. Whether you opt for a simple design or a more intricate design featuring never-ending patterns, the result should be a vibrant, attractive wall that stands out from the rest.

Ocean
Go for a ‘beachy’ look if it is a Hawaiian-themed room. Apart from choosing tan, blue and green for the walls, go for a wall mural depicting the glistening waves or a person surfing on the beach. Place this mural on the wall opposite the bed so that your teen wakes up feeling like he is at the beach every day.

Travel
Think about a destination that your teen loves holidaying in the most. For a vintage look, use sepia-toned photos on the walls. You can even add wall murals depicting on of the favorite landmarks in your teen’s favorite holiday spot. Another great idea is to stencil a map to a treasure leading to an unknown destination!
