You can book your airline tickets at cheaper rate if you book at least 21 days in advance. Travel mid week and spend a weekend at your destination, if possible. If you book your tickets in advance you can choose seat and travel timings. You can choose your preferred seat while booking your flight. You can get some discount if you are traveling with senior citizens, student, military, small children. Do mention about it while booking as you may get some discount. You can become a member of Affinity groups like AAA (American Automobile Association) and AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) if you are above 50. Affinity groups are partnered with restaurants, hotels, airlines and a host of other product and service companies that offer members discounts when purchasing a product or service. Consider booking through a consolidator. Airline consolidators are companies who buy airline seats in bulk from individual airlines and resell them to customers at much cheaper rates.
