A partition table is the table that references all the hard drive partitions.

This partition table can get corrupt because of various reasons such as abrupt system shutdown, virus infections, damaged file system, interrupted hard drive repartitioning, resizing or file system conversion, etc. To overcome system corruption, you should replace it with an updated backup.
