Consider a scenario, wherein,you select a slide from either the Slide sorter or Outline views and then click Copy on the Edit menu, you may receive the following error message:
"Microsoft Visual Basic
File Not Found"
As a result of the above error message, you are unable to copy the slide.
Cause
The above behavior is seen if your presentation contains at least one macro, and the code in that macro is corrupt. This causes presentation file to become corrupt, resulting in data inaccessibilty.
Resolution
In order to fix the problem and remove the macros from the affected presentation, you must try the following PPT recovery steps:
Save the presentation in an earlier format
1.Open the presentation which displays symptoms
2.Go to File menu, click Save As
3.Type a new name in the File Name box
4.If you are using a Windows version of PowerPoint, then click PowerPoint 95 on the Save As Type list. If you are using a Macintosh version, click PowerPoint 4.0 presentation on the Save As Type list.
5.Click Save
6.Close the affected presentation and open the new copy
This particular method has its own share of advantages and disadvantages. While advantage being it is easy to use, the disadvantage is that if you presentation contains elements (animation, transition effects, gradients etc) which are not supported in the earlier version of PowerPoint, those elements can change.
