Consider a scenario wherein you want to upload a PowerPoint presentation on the Internet by converting it into HTML. When you open it after converting it to the HTML file, it fails to open. An error message is displayed, that is:
“HTML Import Errors
Problems came up in the following areas during load: Data is corrupt (path/pres.xml)”
At this instance, the PowerPoint presentation becomes inaccessible and you cannot use it any more. To access the file, you need to find the cause for the error and derive an appropriate PowerPoint repair solution.
Cause:
One of the causes of this problem is improper “Custom Slide Show” settings when you may have saved the presentation. Another reason for this error message is if a same slide appears more than once in the presentation. In such cases, the duplicate slide is incorrectly interpreted in XML, thereby making the file corrupt. Thirdly, there may be a possibility that the PowerPoint file itself is corrupt. This may have happened because of various reasons such as improper shutdown, virus infections, damaged MS Office, etc.
Resolution:
First of all, you should look for the updated backup of that PowerPoint presentation and replace it with the corrupted copy. If it is not available, then you will have to go for the ppt recovery tool as MS PowerPoint does not have any in-built capability to repair ppt. These tools employ complex algorithms to scan the corrupt area to recover the presentation.
