San Francisco School System
The school system in the city of San Francisco is known to be very good. It offers some of the best public schools and some great private schools. The cost of education in San Francisco can be pricy, and this is especially true if you decide to send your child to a private school.
The SF Environment
Many parts of San Francisco are relatively clean and beautiful, however, there are other parts that are dirty. While San Francisco is not as crowded as New York City, there are some areas that are congested, dirty and loud. Fortunately, because of its geographic location and closeness to the ocean, the city offers good air quality.
Cost of Living
San Francisco can be quite expensive, and is not far behind New York City while comparing the cost of living. Food, gas, and housing are all costly expenses compared to many other states and cities in the country. An additional expense you may want to do further research on is the cost of sponsoring your child’s after school activities.
Security
According to crime reports by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, San Francisco is a relatively safe place for kids, and although the crime levels are higher than the national averages, they are still significantly lower than the crime levels in Los Angeles.
The Parking Issue
If you haven’t heard already, there are many areas in the city where parking is a problem. You should certainly consider this aspect when choosing the location of your new residency. If you are planning to move to a more crowded area, try to buy or lease a home with a parking spot. This will be especially important for parents of toddlers and babies, as finding a parking spot with your child in the back seat may be a very unpleasant experience for the both of you.
