Bed sheets can help bring in comfort to your bed. While choosing a bed sheet, the most important aspect is the thread count, as it determines the quality of the sheet. Always opt for sheeting that has a thread count of 400 or higher. Not only are these delightfully soft and smooth, but they will also become even more comfy with every wash. Cotton bed sheets are considered to be the best as they are light, cool and breathe well. Non-wrinkling cotton blends are a good choice. These days, fleece sheets are also becoming increasingly popular due to their warmth and ease of maintenance. A microfiber sheet is a man-made fiber that is very low on maintenance and feels as plush as satin or silk.
You can also choose to purchase your bed linen in sets. The main advantage of bedding sets is that they have coordinated sheets, shams and skirts to give your bedroom a well-designed, uniform look. You can also have two or more bedding sets with a color that runs common between all the sets and which matches your overall décor. Doing this would help you mix-and-match the bedding sets to create a new look each time.
Bed skirts, or bed ruffles as they are also called, are essentially for preventing the accumulation of dirt under the bed. They also serve the purpose of hiding the space under the bed from view, so this space can be utilized as storage. In essence, a bed skirt can add functional style to a bedroom. It is important to remember that making the bed will need more attention as bed skirts are prone to tears or get “pulled” threads. Choose between the different styles of bed ruffles and choose a style, like the pleated style, which stays firm against the edges around the bed.
