Anyone involved in the world of nose jobs and plastic surgery knows that precision is so important when it comes to having a successful operation. A qualified surgeon must make tiny, almost imperceptible changes in the shape and contour of the nose to have a result that looks better and yet is free of that “worked on” appearance. It wasn’t long ago that patients didn’t mind the “nose job” look. Today, however, that look is considered unappealing and that kind of result is looked at as hack work.

Today, rather than going for the nose that looks as though it’s been worked on, most patients prefer to have results that achieve a nice aesthetic balance with the rest of the face. For a plastic surgeon, that balance is the ultimate goal. With the new tools and techniques today’s cosmetic artists have at their disposal, it is much easier to create a result that looks natural, as if the nose could have grown that way.

Unlike the way many women feel about breast enhancements, the approach to rhinoplasty is usually a less is more type of feeling. Because the nose is the centerpiece of the face, it takes very little adjustment to make a huge difference is a person’s appearance. For that reason, surgeons like to make only small changes when they put the patient under the knife. Having the patient come back in for revisions is certainly not ideal, but it’s a better situation than cutting too much away and leaving no room for improvement. Many surgeons are also taking advantage of software which can draw up computer images of what the patient will look like with their new nose. This gives the patient invaluable information with which to make a decision, as well as steel them for what can often be a shocking reveal.

As technology gets better and better, cosmetic surgeons across the country are always looking for the next best thing that will not only help them achieve better results, but will draw in more patients. One such technology that is just starting to become available is HD 3-D endoscope technology. It may sound like something coming to the local movie theater, but it is actually a tool that many surgeons are excited about. It will give surgeons a much better view of their operation arena and allow even better results.
