We all hear that home-based businesses are all scams and how we'd be a fool for investing a dime into anything of the sort. How will we know one of them isn't a scam and how will we know we will earn money from them? Here's how.

Do your due diligence in every way possible. Review the website thoroughly including any and all fine print. Go to the Better Business Bureau and do a search on the company which will require company name and corporate headquarters location. Go to google or any other search engine and do a search on the name and scroll the articles you find, if any.

If there is any bad press about the company, talk to the salesperson and ask them about it. Most of the bad press is caused by those who didn't follow the guidance of other leaders who are earning money. The corporate webpage should address these. If they don't- the bad press could be true. It sometimes takes time to do all of these things, but it will pay off if you truly want to work from home.

There are a lot of opportunities to work from home and there are a lot of legitimate ones as well. Doing your due diligence will give you a better feeling about the opportunity and the decision you make whether you pursue the career or not.

Before you make any decisions about any career choice, I strongly suggest you read two books. The first one is "Rich Dad, Poor Dad- The finanacial quadrant" by Robert Kiyosaki and the second is "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker. Read them in that order. They will speak to you and help guide you to take the action you truly want to take. If you truly want to work from home- these books will jump start you into action and you'll never look back.
