Harley On Route 66 - A Real Tour Experience (2)

For those just joining us here, we have previously looked at the first part of this tour - Route 66 On A Harley - A Real Tour Experience (1). This is the second and concluding part of the tour. Let us get into it.

This is day 9 after your rest day. You would be riding from Santa Fe to Gallup. You would be riding south towards New Mexico's biggest city - Albuquerque. On this ride, you would cross the Rio Grande and then head west. Here you would come upon open country and the Navajo Wilderness. You would continue your ride through Laguna, Grants and would find yourself riding along the Cibola National Forest. You ride for the day would end at Gallup.

One day 10, you ride starts from Gallup and ends at Flagstaff. From Gallup, it is about half an hour's ride into Arizona. In Arizona, you would ride through the Petrified Forest. This is a sight to see. Its an awesome sight of fossilized prehistoric forest of huge trees. They were unearthed by erosion. Further west, you would ride to Holbrool and Winslow. These are two old Route 66 towns. As you ride on, you would ride past Jackribbit Trading Post before arriving at Flagstaff. You would be staying the night here at Flagstaff known to be Northern Arizona's most lively town.

Your ride for day 11 would take you from Flagstaff to William. You would be riding to the Great Canyon today. You can be sure that this is one of the most breathtaking sights. Take some time to get some beautiful pictures that you would treasure for life. When you are done with the Great Canyon, ride south into Williams. William is an old western town and this is your stop for the night.

On day 12, you would be riding from Williams to Laughlin, a distance of 210 miles. You would be riding west on the road known as "Mother Road". Continue riding through Kingsman which is an Indian town in Peach Spring. As far as Route 66 is concerned, Kingsman is considered the heart of this route. As you ride into the mountains, you would get into the mining town of Oatman. You are now getting lose to the border to cross into Nevada from where you would only ride a few miles to Laughlin. This is where you stop for the day.

It is day thirteen and your would riding to Victorville from Laughlin. This trip would cover about 220 mile. You would be riding to California today which is also where Route 66 ends. As you ride, don't be scared as your ride through Devil's playground. You would also ride along the Mojave Desert. As you ride, get ready for some very wonderful sights. When you have gone through the desert, you would finally get to San Gabriel Mountains. From here it is a straight ride to Victorville. Victorville is your stop for the day.

You have come to day 14 and you would be riding 95 miles from Victorville to Los Angeles. This leg of the ride is not as long as the others. Your destination is Santa Monica Boulevard which is where Route 66 comes to an end. You can take your time getting to your destination as there is a lot to hold your interest. You can take in Hollywood, Beverly hills, Rodeo drive and other places and things that would keep your interest alive as your end your ride. When you are done with all of these, you can get some rest because your tour has finally come to an end.

The is the last day - day 15. You would not be riding today. After returning your bike, you fly back home.

After going on this tour, you surely would have enough to remember for a long while to come. The refreshing feeling you would get from this tour would be sure to show in your work and the new zest with which you would face life. Keep the thought and fond memories of this tour with you. You can always go for another tour along another route when and if you feel a need to.
