||||
|
Hair salon marketing is one of the most fundamental aspects a business owner needs to understand. Unless you are in a small town with little or no competition, you will need to let others know that you are here and ready for business. |

Tips To Marketing Your Salon
Hair salon marketing starts by knowing what you have to offer the client. Answer these questions:
• What services do you offer?
• What unique benefit do clients receive when they visit your salon?
• Are your prices, packages and customer service all at the same level or better than other salons in the area?
(Being less expensive is not always best!)
Determine what it is that you have to offer to the client that makes your hair salon better than others. This will become your marketing tool. For example, perhaps you offer high end hair treatments at affordable prices. This unique offering will draw clients into your salon. Now, you can use this marketing message to alert potential clients that you are in town and ready to serve their needs.
Hair Salon Marketing Methods
There are many ways that you can promote your business. Here are several options to take into consideration.
• Talk to locals in service industries that are likely to draw similar clients to your own. For example, clients that visit the local spa may enjoy those high end treatments. Provide these establishments with marketing material for your salon. In turn, allow them to place promotional material for their company in your salon. Be sure you are not talking to the competition, but a side by side industry with your own.
• Pair up with a non profit organization and offer them a donation. For example, offer discount coupons to the organization to pass out offering a discount of $5 off a salon service. The organization will get $5 for each used coupon that you receive. This reduces your need to promote the business with staff.
• Word of mouth is one of the most powerful and unique tools you have when it comes to hair salon marketing. Promote your business through the excellent experiences that your customers get. Encourage them to tell friends and family. You may want to set up a program, if you can afford to do so, where you offer a discount to the customer when they refer a friend to the salon. Then, wow that new customer so that they too bring in new clientele.
Hair salon marketing is very important because it promotes your business and drives clients in. It is estimated that some ten percent of the budget of the hair salon should be spent on marketing. If you are not investing in hair salon marketing, you are not investing in the new customers that will keep your business moving forward and bring in profits. Do not overlook the importance of it.
