Regardless of our age or health we lose hair every day, in much the same way we shed skin. Many of us are fortunate enough because it never becomes noticeable. However there is an increasing number of people who do lose their hair and it doesn’t grow back. Hair that is lost is usually replaced in a reasonable amount of time, it’s only when it doesn’t re-grow that the issues begin.

Just like with any medical condition, there are numerous myths concerning the contributing factors surrounding hair loss. Coloring your hair, excessive bleaching or using hair care products that are full of chemicals can all be harmful to your hair’s condition. Aging and stress can also be a factor. That’s one of the reasons why it’s important to try to main a healthy lifestyle.

All drugs, whether they are for recreational purposes or prescribed by a doctor, can have an effect on just about all of your bodily function. This doesn’t take in to consideration all the long term effects drugs can have on your physical body as well as your mental well being. Hair loss can also be caused by hormonal imbalances in woman and skin infections. Just about any illness that effects the body can have a factor in hair loss.

Recently there has been a lot of talk concerning the effects of stress and hair loss. In today’s hectic word, everyone works long hours spending hours sitting in the traffic during the daily commute, just to get to work in the morning. Then with the demands of the modern day family, that includes taking kids to soccer practice or music lesions, it’s hard for the average person to wind down after a stressful day at the office. The obvious solution is to work less, however in today’s consumer world, that isn’t always possible. The trick is to not bring the work home with you and to find acceptable ways of dealing with your stress.
