Thank you cards or gratitude note cards are an effective way of strengthening business relationships. It is inexpensive and can easily be done. They go a long way and always lead to referrals, future sales and long term business relationships. This form of campaign shows the value a company it places in every customer, not only before the purchase but especially after the purchase.
Here is a guide on how you can properly thank clients for the business they bring your company.
1. At the actual purchase, say “Thank You!” to the customer. And say it with genuine feeling of gratitude. Personalize this verbal thank you by using the customer’s name. Mention what you are thanking him or her for. Example: Thank you so much, John, for purchasing our new brand of shampoo today. You have just made our day!
2. Write a personal gratitude note card or thank you card. You can even write on the invoice or receipt. Or can send gratitude note card or thank you card through the mail. Keep it handwritten for a more personalized approach. Again, use the customer’s name and mention the purchase.
3. For frequent customers, reward them with discount coupons on their next buy. You can also design an incentive program showcasing discounts or freebies after a certain amount of purchase. Example: Buy two bottles of shampoo and get one free. This kind of strategy encourages customer loyalty. It gives customers fun and rewarding incentives to make the next purchase still with your brand.
4. Send gifts as reminder of appreciation. The gift should include printing of your company logo. This enforces brand recall. There is no need for any special occasion. The basis can be how frequent the customers have made their purchase of your brand. Surprise them with a gift and they will keep coming back and even refer your brand to friends and family.
5. On holidays and special occasions, send gratitude note cards or thank you cards to loyal customers. Celebrate the holiday or special occasion with them. Show how you are one with them in all events or occasions of their lives. Be one with them and you will definitely be part of their lives for the longest possible time. Although personalized and handwritten, keep the message simple and generic so as not to offend any religious or spiritual belief. Always stick with the message, “thank you for your business".
