Sometimes the failure would be costly, as it would lead to the entire production lines coming to a halt. Thus, something had to be done and human beings by nature were not going to take things lying down. Thus, these cables saw the light of the day.

Here the word flexible tells us a lot about these cables. It has been designed in such a way that it can adjust easily with tight bending radii and take the physical stress that is generally associated with moving applications. These cables just like any other cable move inside the cable carriers. There flexible nature is also advantages, as it tends to increase the service life of a cable. Thus, here the end user will be at a benefit as there are minimum replacement costs.

Now if you look further, the flexible cable can be classified into two major categories. They are conductors stranded in layers inside the cable and those that are bundled or braided conductors. Those ones, which are stranded in layers, are easy to produce and hence are less expensive.

These cable cores, which are stranded firmly are left relatively long for several layers in and around the centre. An extended tube shaped jacket then encloses them. However, during the bending process the inner radius compresses while the outer radius stretches, as there is movement in the cable carrier. The ones, which are stranded in bundles, are a bit difficult to produce and are a bit costly. Here the conductors are braided around a tension proof centre instead of layering them.
