Read on and learn how you can use both science and art in your business advertising:
1. Develop one key message. An ad that conveys one clear key message is more likely to have a high response rate compared to those with so many garbled messages. Nike’s “Just do it” in most of its printing posters is simple, straightforward and compelling. Your business advertisement should be able to communicate its key message in three seconds or less. More than that and you run the risk of confusing or losing your potential customers.
2. Develop trustworthiness. Oftentimes, people distrust advertising because a lot of them have had bad experience with false claims. However, if you intend for your business to go the distance, you have to find ways to develop credibility. Trust is essential in any business. Claims need to be backed up and proven to be real and credible. Any advertisement which is not perceived as the truth is just a waste of money.
3. Test, test and test. Always test your advertisements. Use coupons, codes and specials to measure the headline, timing and placement of your ad. Test one ad campaign at a time and one medium. Measure the feedback when printing posters by simply asking your target clients about them.
4. Be accessible. Every single printing poster, flyer, brochure or presentation folder should have your full contact information. They should have contact information about your website, email address, fax numbers, etc. It would be a good idea to have your key message included in all your contact details.
5. Create an illusion of mystery. Mystery draws people to it. Remember how you would inch your way to see what the crowd is watching? This is what you would want to do with your business advertising. Create ads that generate interest and make the customer want more information. Consult your poster printing company and learn what others have done to achieve this effect.
Remember however, that these five tips will not work immediately because advertising is not a quick fix solution. You need patience, lots of it, to finally reap the rewards you have been waiting for.
