First Signs of Menopause and Menopause Treatments

Menopause is a normal part of life. It's one step in the process of reproductive aging. It is a point at which a woman is their last menstrual period. The permanent cessation of menstruation is usually seen after 12 consecutive months without a period.

Most women experience menopause at the age of 40 to 58 years.

During this period, a woman gradually ceases to ovulate ovaries and the limited production of estrogen and progesterone. These hormones are important to maintain the vagina and uterus healthy as well as for normal menstrual cycle and successful pregnancy.

Although menopause is mostly a natural process, certain surgical or medical intervention it may give rise to more than project. These interventions include a hysterectomy (total hysterectomy - removal of the uterus and ovaries), chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Menopause is an important period in a woman's life. The body undergoes changes that can affect social life, feeling and functioning at work. In the past, menopause was often surrounded by myths and misunderstandings. Today we know that menopause is a natural step in the process of aging and many women now taking the years after menopause as a challenge to discover a new experience.

Menopause is commonly divided into two stages:

• 1st perimenopause - the period in women beginning with the emergence of signs and symptoms of menopause,
• 2nd Post menopause - a period of 12 months from the last period.

Signs and symptoms

Any woman experiencing menopause differently. Signs and symptoms are also quite individual. About 75% of women noted some problems during menopause.

Signs and symptoms include: irregular menstrual periods, reduced fertility and sexual problems, vaginal changes, bladder problems, hot flashes, sleep disturbances and night sweating, changes in body and in appearance, scooping weight, osteoporosis, changes in cholesterol level, emotional changes (anxiety, depression, mood swings, stress) and lifestyle changes.

Diagnosis

Usually not necessary laboratory tests to confirm menopause. Signs and symptoms are enough to make most women find themselves, that they began menopause. But if you have any questions, talk with your doctor.

Your doctor may investigate the level-follicles-stimulating hormone (FSH) and estrogen.

Treatment

Menopause is a natural process. Does not require any treatment unless symptoms are not particularly tiring.

There are several traditional treatments including:

1. Hormone replacement therapy
