An entrepreneur is an individual that engages in a business enterprise in order to maximise profits and to subsequently make himself rich in the process. What distinguishes the entrepreneur from a worker is the ability to initiate ideas and to be able to translate this idea into physical reality through action.

Being entrepreneurial goes deeper than just having a job or career, it is a life style. Business owners are special beings, they need deep commitment and seriousness to arrive at their targets. Most of them are also risk takers, but they assess risks well before plunging in. They adapt to change and improve their life skills through coaching, mentorship, books and experience.

Finding success as an entrepreneur is not a function of luck, some attributes have to be in place. Firstly, an entrepreneur should build his/her business around satisfying a need, if there is no need to satisfy, then their is no need being in business.

Secondly, an entrepreneur that would be successful needs to train his kind to recognise and explore opportunities around him. He also needs to have a bit of management skills to enhance the process of integrating and coordinating resources in arriving at a targeted goal.

Also, an is entrepreneur required to have some knowledge of marketing. This is to enable him exchange goods and services for money, identify his target market, reach the people within these market, and to understand the different behaviours of the consumers towards his product.

Furthermore,the entrepreneur should be good at planning as well as implementing the plan by involving others through effective delegation.

Other variables that will enhance the success of an entrepreneur include, but not limited to the following: persuasiveness, drive, vision, understanding, and perseverance. Others are self-confidence, people, Godliness, competitiveness and organisation.
