Thanks to TV, radio, and especially the Internet, everybody I know is tormented by a barrage of too much information. And because of the stress caused by the frenzied lives we lead, our capability to center our attention, understand information, and remember it later when needed has been shattered. |

And think about the emotional sensations that you are presently experiencing? That's also data that you're presently processing. We live in an information intensive world. Thanks to the Internet, almost everything and anything that you might ever want to know is only a few mouse clicks away.
I recently read a piece that said that even in a tranquil and peaceful setting, we are bombarded by sixty thousand stimuli per second. And that's happening sixty seconds out of each and every minute, and sixty minutes out of each and every hour. And it goes on twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, week in and week out for our entire life.
And happens to be a big part of the problem. We are all suffering from "information overload." And that makes it very tricky to remember all of the data that we want to remember or need to be able to remember.
Quite often, as we are reading, we discover that our eyes have been traversing the sentences on the page, while our conscious mind has been off somewhere else on a tangent. When we get to the bottom of the page, we realize that our eyes have seen the words, but we have no conscious recollection of what we've just read. That's because our mind has been somewhere else thinking about a problem, or working out an assignment.
Today it's an every day occurrence to hear even young people utter things like, "I'm having a senior moment." Regardless of your age, and whether you are a student, part of the labor, or a retired person, I am sure that you understand what I'm talking about. In our chaotic world it is quite often quite difficult to focus your attention.
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING IS YOUR PROBLEM?
A. Your mind starts to wander as you study or read, and then gradually you appreciate that you do not possess the slightest idea what you've been reading.
B. When you are in a social environment and new acquaintances are introduced to you, you find that you forget their names almost as rapidly as you hear them.
C. You remember that you have a task to do in another room; however, as soon as you start towards the other room you totally forget what that task is.
D. You are able to stay alert and understand new information. But when you take an examination, "Test Anxiety" overcomes you and creates a mental block, and you are not able to recollect the answers to the questions on the test that you in reality know.
The main cause of a person's failure to focus their attention is stress. And the main cause of a mental block to recall is also stress. So it stands to reason that the more relaxed a person is, the better they will be able to focus their concentration, absorb information, and then be able to recall it at a later date.
Today, memory enhancement through hypnosis has become a popular topic. That's partially because hypnosis is a first rate instrument for creating relaxation. In fact, the very essence of the hypnotic state is relaxation. And as the mind becomes tranquil, the ability to stay focused increases. Similarly, a serene mind increases the aptitude to retain information, and recollect it when it is needed.
Self-hypnosis memory improvement is a wonderful modality for getting rid of test anxiety. There are several hypnotic techniques that can be used to program a student with a positive expectation of tranquility, self-reliance, and success while taking tests.
Anyone can take a course on how to apply hypnosis quickly and affordably in the privacy of their own home by purchasing hypnosis CD's. It's easy to find more information on hypnosis to enhance memory and recall in the Hypnosis Research Library located on my website.
