Cause:
Such behavior of Outlook Express occurs because the 'Sent Items.dbx' folder of Outlook Express is corrupt or damaged.
Solution:
To overcome above issue, and to Recover Outlook Express, you have to change the name of the Sent Items folder file. For renaming, follow the below mentioned steps:
(1) Transfer the messages in the 'Sent Items' to the created folder.
(2) Close Outlook Express.
(3) Select Start >> Find or Search as per your operating system >> Files or Folders.
(4) Enter Sent items.dbx in the named box. In the Look in list, click drive C:, and then select Find Now.
(5) Select Rename by doing a right click on the Sent Items.dbx.
(6) Close the dialog box where you are finding.
(7) Now open Outlook Express, an automatic creation of Sent Items folder will take place.
