You have a talent. Do you like to drive? You can become an independent car transporter. Some dealerships will pay you $500 or more just to drive a car from one state or city to another. Do you read the newspaper? You can start a newspaper clipping service. Do you like to shop? Many people just don't have enough time to do their own shopping (especially around the holidays). This is where you can excel.
Just sit and think about problems that exist in today's modern times. Plenty of people are willing to pay someone else to do the work for them if it will take some of the stress away. Little did you know, you can be of use to a lot of business (especially small business owners).
Small business owners contract individuals like you all the time. A large percentage of them don't require that you even leave your house. But to find a GENUINE, LEGITAMET, TRUTHFUL business does require some work.
If you interested in working as an independent contractor for a business, here are a few things to consider.
1.) What type of business is it that your interested in?
You must first decide what industry you would like to get involved in. Choosing to right industry is not always difficult. If you like to party, look into clubs. If you like to talk, look into customer services or answering services. The key is to discover your hobby or talent and match that into the business field.
2.) Be organized!
Being organized can help to create a lot less stress on a business. Set aside an area in your home to start working from. Get all the materials and information you need. Make sure you keep all of your business notes separate from referrals, etc...
3.) Start contacting local business owners!
Call some business owners in the field you want to advance. You can do this, of course, by looking in the "yellow pages" or "business pages". You can learn a lot from someone with the experience (someone who's made mistakes and can tell you how to avoid them).
4.) Make sure you have a business plan!
Create a business binder. Write down everything you will do, from A-Z. You should include your capital that would be needed (if any), materials, contacts (the business owners you called), etc...Also, depending on the field your going into, make sure you check your legal information. Everything that you will need should be included in your business binder.
5.) Continue to improve and learn!
A business cannot be successful if you don't continue to strive to keep it successful. You must stay up to date to stay on top. Education is important.
Until next time.
