In most cases of occurrences of fatal system error message, your database becomes corrupt. An ideal way to overcome such corruption scenarios is by restoring data from an updated backup. However, if no backup is available or backup file itself gets corrupted, then you will need to use advanced repair access application to repair your corrupted database.

As a practical scenario, when you attempt to mount your Access 2003 database, you encounter the below fatal error message:

“Microsoft Office Access has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”

You receive the above error message every time you attempt to mount your database. Your database becomes inaccessible after the above error message.

To resolve all such error messages, Microsoft is incorporated with an inbuilt utility named “Compact and Repair.” The repair utility repairs the corrupted Access database and its components in almost all situations. However, the utility fails to repair your database if your database is very large or your database is severely corrupted. In such situations, the best way to access your database is by creating a new database by importing objects from the old database. To do so, you will need to follow the below steps:

1. Start Microsoft Access 2003 and create a new database.
2. Click on File option, select Get External Data, and then click Import.
3. An Import dialog box appears. Click Microsoft Office Access (*.mdb;*.adp;*.mda;*.mde;*.ade) in the “Files of type” list.
4. Select the drive and folder (which stores the old database) in the “Look in” box.
5. Select the file, and click Import.
6. Select all the Access components you want to import. Click OK to import all the selected components.
7. Compile all the imported modules in the new Access database.
8. Exit Microsoft Access 2003.

However, if you still encounter the same fatal system error message, then you will need to use advanced access repair application to repair your corrupted database. Such Access Database Repair applications use advanced scanning methods to repair corrupted database after every system error message.
