Here are some technologies in FotoFacial IPL which can help you solve these skin problems.
How does Elos technology work?
Elos combines radio light energies and frequency. This combination precisely and safely targets pigmented lesions such as age spots freckles, and sun spots. Vascular lesions such as spider vessels and vessels from rosacea are also lightened and gradually fade.
What’s the target of IPL laser?
Lasers here target the melanin in your skin and IPL laser targets the browns, reds, and pinks in your skin. The laser machine used for the FotoFacial IPL procedure is so small (only a few millimeters in diameter) that it is able to target a single freckle, but not the area around it. Then you can erase any imperfections you want, and leave others.
What does FotoFacial IPL color correction do?
The FotoFacial IPL color correction works effectively with most skin types. After about five treatment sessions, patients’ skin tone improvement can be typically achieved. They can resume their regular activities immediately. It is safer to use this laser on people with darker skin types because of its radio frequency (RF) component, as RF is believed to be “color blind,” which means that the delivery of heat is not responsive to skin color, unlike light energy.
What’s the difference between FotoFacial here and others’?
The darker the skin, the more the skin absorbs heat from the light. To preserve the integrity of the skin, light energies are often reduced, which can compromise the effectiveness of the treatment. The additional RF component can compensate for this energy reduction without compromising safety. While it isn’t common for African-American skin to experience much sun damage, we often do the procedure for Hispanic, Asian, and olive skin types. Some IPL machines can treat acne by using filters that will filter the wavelength of the blue color light known to kill acne bacteria. At Ulan Medical Spa, we use a designated blue light emitting diode (LED) machine which we alternate with red LED sessions that are designed to both kill acne bacteria and reduce inflammation.
How long will the results of a FotoFacial last?
After the treatment, your skin will be just as vulnerable to the sun. How soon the signs of damage return will depend on lifestyle changes, such as wearing sunscreen, sun exposure, wearing a hat and genetic factors. In San Diego, we find that maintenance treatments for the FotoFacial are usually done once every 3 to 4 months. Remember that after undergoing a FotoFacial IPL color correction procedure, you cannot have a fresh tan on the day of the treatment.
