What corporate gifts are appropriate for your company? This is a question not a lot of companies ask when they choose gifts for valued staff and important clients. Too often simple desk ornaments are chosen when there are so many more gifts out there that would cost the same but have a much greater impact. Remember, the gifts you choose should reflect the people and companies you give them to, and not your own company.

This kind of gesture sends a message that you know them, and know what they like. When people get this from a company, they tend to form strong subconscious connections between that company and positive values. For example, if one of your clients is an outdoor enthusiast, you can easily find an affordable gadget that will make their trips that much easier and more enjoyable. Hand held GPS devices, path finders and other electronic devices make excellent corporate gifts and are always well received.

A gift like this is one of the best ways of telling an important staff member or client just how valuable they are to your business. But what if you have several hundred gifts to give out, and you don’t have enough in your budget to spend a few hundred dollars on each gift? Well, there a lot of options available to you. Many corporate gifts companies will offer a batch engraving deal if you order a certain number of promotional pens, or another similar item. You can have all of your staff members’ names engraved on a pen for less than $1,000.

You might be able to have the same number of pens all engraved with the company logo for half the price, but no employee is going to value the same gift that everybody else received. The trick to choosing the right corporate gifts is always to make a statement about the people you are giving the gifts to. Morale depends on a lot more than salary, and valuable gifts show your employees that their efforts are appreciated, and that the work they do adds value to the company.

Corporate gifts for upper management tend to be a little trickier, but one type of gift will always do the trick. A well made gimmicky photo frame is the perfect gift for the executive with a family. Most wouldn’t bother buying themselves a very expensive photo frame, let alone one that floats “magically” between two magnets. Take a look on people’s desks and see what they do not have. This will give you loads of ideas for picking out corporate gifts.

When it comes to corporate gifts the trick is to be creative, and put some thought into the gifts you are giving. Promotional gifts given away to crowds can be impersonal, but when you are dealing with your business relationships it definitely pays to put some thought into your gifts.
