Consider Your Image In Building Credibility

you need to be aware of what people are going to think about you and how this will affect your chances of getting business from them. Never let something like a poor appearance or badly designed business card stop you from getting a sale.

There are a lot of things about the way a person looks and the image they present that can make a person form an instant opinion about them. Whether or not this opinion is actually going to be true is hard to tell, but true or not, the opinion forms even through small things like the quality of your business card printing.

I recall reading a little while back about a study done on doctors giving out advice about living healthy to their patients. This advice amounted to various ways they could eat healthier and what kind of exercise they should do in order to stay fit.

Now, people were willing to listen to the doctors who were skinny and lean, but when the doctor was overweight as well, suddenly people did not bother to listen to the advice. The idea was obviously that if the doctor could not even stay in shape, than how was he supposed to give out advice to other people on the subject?

Is this actually a fair assessment? No, it really is not, because the overweight doctors probably knew what they were talking about; they just did not practice what they preached. Right or not the patients weren’t as likely to heed the advice.

So what can you do to apply this to yourself? The first thing any person is trying to do with marketing themselves is convince people they can be trusted and they are professional.

The way you dress and the way you carry yourself are going to impact what a person thinks about you and how professional you appear. If you show up to a meeting looking a little disheveled, your hair message up, and your clothing kind of wrinkled, you certainly would not look very professional anymore. People might think that if you cannot take care of your own appearance you will not be able to handle their business.

The same goes for the color business cards you get done. If you have a poor business card that is hard to read or follow people are going to think less of you. The business card is a big part of marketing yourself, and how well you handle the job of business card printing is going to be reflected in the final product that you hand to people.

That is why if your color business cards are not up to the task people are going to think less of your work overall because you obviously were not able to make a good card. There are a number of different occasions where things like this can happen.
