Circle Leadership - A New Leadership Model

Circle leadership is a new leadership model that focuses on establishing a strong sphere of followers who are empowered to carry out the work of a leader. In essence Circle Leadership magnifies a leader's impact by giving power to people within the leader's sphere or circle of influence.

Circle Leadership is a new leadership model for the 21st century and beyond. In today's markeplace change happens in the blink of an eye and companies that are successful are those that adapt with the changes. Circle Leadership creates a strong circle of followers who are well equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to be effective in spite of the changing times. Followers within the circle serve two very important roles:

1) They are knowledge workers - their position within the circle gives them access to information both inside and outside of the company. This information serves as a valuable tool to help inform the leader of changes within the environment.

2) The effectiveness of a leader is multiplied - followers who are empowered and skilled help to implement and carry out the leader's goals. The leader is a single person but when followers within the sphere or circle of influence are effective and skilled the talents of the leader are then multiplied because many people are working together (synergy) to accomplish the same goals.

How is Circle Leadership created? It is a new way of viewing leadership. Rather than looking at leadership from a single individual perspective it is looked at as a group effort. A leader first identifies key followers within his or her sphere or circle of of influence and then takes steps to engage, educate, and train followers so they have the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective followers.

Circle Leadership magnifies a leader's efforts by enlisting and engaging others to help reach the leader's goals.
