Chemicals Are Killing You

This article discusses how probiotics can replace chemicals.

In today’s world you can’t turn on your television or walk down the street without being bombarded with messages about going green, reducing your carbon footprint, or the perils of global warming. Everyone seems to be outraged about the state of our planet, but not quite outraged enough to do anything about it. A good example of this are the countless Hollywood celebrities that are quick to point out that they drive hybrid cars in order to “save the planet.” What they forget to tell you is that they will only fly in a private jet (and that one flight from L.A. to London produces more carbon emissions than an SUV does in an entire year.)

Most people genuinely want to become more earth friendly, but only if it doesn’t inconvenience them or interrupt their current lifestyle. So what is a simple step that we can all take to improve our environment? Use probiotics instead of chemicals. Probiotics are essentially “good” bacteria that have a multitude of uses. They can be used to clean your home, fertilize crops, or even stop you from having diarrhea. Best of all, probiotics occur naturally in almost every environment and can be produced naturally.

The average American household contains an average of 3-10 gallons of hazardous chemicals. We need to use cleaning products to prevent disease and odor, but we have gone too far. Most of the chemicals that we use are more dangerous than the things we are trying to clean up! Fortunately, probiotics can replace hazardous chemicals around the house. Probiotics work by consuming noxious compounds, the exact same compounds that “bad” disease carrying bacteria consume. With their food source gone, the “bad bacteria” is eliminated in a natural way. Another advantage of probiotics is that they are safe to handle and even drink. What would happen if a small child drank some bleach? They would most likely die. It is time that we remove these dangerous products from our homes.

Let’s think about what happens when pesticides are sprayed on crops to make them grow more quickly and produce greater yields. The chemicals penetrate the ground and are absorbed by the plant’s roots thus making the plant grow. The plant is then harvested and sold to humans who eagerly consume it – and the chemicals it contains. Of course only a small amount of chemicals are consumed, but over a lifetime that amount adds up. No wonder cancer rates have been steadily increasing. Probiotics can be used to help the plants grow and produce greater yields – in a natural, chemical free way. When probiotics are sprayed on crops the beneficial microbes use the noxious compounds found in the soil as a food source. These compounds would normally attach to the plant’s roots and prevent water and oxygen from reaching the plant but with these compounds gone, more oxygen and water are delivered and the plant is able to grow quickly in a completely natural way.

Earlier in this article I stated that people would only use sustainable products if it doesn’t inconvenience them or force them to change their lifestyle. Probiotics work just as effectively, if not more effectively than chemicals. They also cost about as much as chemicals do. Most importantly, probiotics will not kill humans, pets, and other living creatures that come into contact with them. So why aren’t more people using probiotics? Ask yourself that the next time you consider buying more chemicals.
