But what makes red wine so special?
Red wine is made and aged with the skins on. This means, as opposed to white wine, red wine has more polyphenols as these are naturally found in grape skin. Polyphenols protect your heart’s lining, making it less susceptible to heart damage. In addition, Reservatrol is found in red wine. It is antimicrobial, and helps your heart be healthier as they reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in your body, and helps prevent blood clot.
White wine also has some benefits. If you’re trying to take care of your teeth, white wine is the drink for you. It stunts bacteria growth. This decreases your risk of tooth decay. It also decreases the risk of you developing sore throat.
Alcohol for breakfast isn’t always a bad idea, according to doctors. A shot of whiskey a day can prove to be more beneficial that most people realize. Whiskey that’s aged in oak barrels, such as Jack Daniels, contains an astonishing amount of antioxidants. In fact, those antioxidants can even replace Vitamin C’s recommended intake. Whiskey also contains ellagic acid, which is a substance that absorbs cancer cells.
Here’s another one you can use to replace your morning orange juice: brandy. High quality brandy is aged in copper tools. This means it absorbs some components of copper. Brandy contains a high amount of antioxidants. Stay away from low quality brandy, though, as they do not provide the same amount of benefits high quality brandy can.
Want to avoid a heart attack? Then by all means, grab a pint of Guinness and start drinking. According to an experiment in Wisconsin, this drink prevents heart attacks from happening. It contains flavonoids, which act as anti-inflammatory substances in your body. This prevents blood clots, which in turn prevents heart attacks.
There’s nothing like a cold beer at the end of the day. You might be surprised to know that no matter which type of beer you’re drinking, you can actually help your bones grow and develop healthier. Thanks to silicon, which can be found in every beer of every brew, your bones will be very healthy. In other beers, xanthohumol is found. This is a micronutrient, which has the ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cell activators like tumors and enzymes.
Alcohol in moderation is healthy. Just don’t step over the line, or else you’ll cause more health risks. A drink or two a day can give you that health boost you need. Even if it’s a glass of red wine or an ice-cold beer, you can be sure you’re getting the benefits you deserve.
