Sony Ericsson have announced the Sony-Ericsson-T650 phone. Sony Ericsson claims the new T650 "builds on the design heritage of the T610", which is odd, as the T610 was just an ugly old candybar design, whereas the new T650, despite also being a candybar, is actually quite attractive .The T650 is a quad-band GSM phone that also supports 3G.

It comes with a 262k colour 1.9" TFT screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, an MP3 player, video calling, streaming and viewing, Bluetooth 2.0, and all the usual gubbins you'd expect from a mid-range phone of 2007.The old T610 (left), in contrast, was a tri-band phone with a 128 × 160 pixel 65k colour screen, a camera capable of taking pictures at a massive 352 x 288 resolution .

– Growing Green and Midnight Blue – and will be a Dual mode UMTS 2100

The second phone launched by Sony Ericsson is the T650 phone in midnight blue which sports a more common candy bar design. It is 0.55 inch thick and comes in midnight blue and a shade called growing green.

Advanced communications, multimedia functions and connectivity are all second nature to the T650. This slim 3G phone conceals a high performance feature set. The mineral glass display is placed directly onto the screen, which makes the colours more intense, improves visibility in bright environments and widens the viewing angle of the screen up to 170 degrees.
