The REGATTA is a sportive, touristy and cultural event in Mauritius: Authentic Mauritian regattas of “pirogues” (traditional wooden boats) are available to both companies and private groups and a great time is to be had by all.

As in 2006, in November 2008, the lagoon of Mahébourg will be animated by colourful sails thanks to a great sailing competition of traditional Mauritian pirogues organized by Incentive Partners.
The REGATTA offers not only business incentives for companies wishing to reward employees, but also a sporting and participative tourism which enables people to discover the Creole tradition of “regattas of pirogues”.

The idea for this event was born from the desire to share with tourists a different image of Mauritius from that for which it is already well known, white sand beaches and lagoons. Therefore, the goal is to accentuate the cultural heritage of the country by using pirogues, which are traditionally Mauritian, and secondly by holding the regattas in Mahébourg; a region of the island full of history being the landing spot of the Dutch in 1598 and the site of the Great Battle of Grand-Port. Ecological responsibility is important to Incentive Partners and they see communication as a valuable tool for achieving environmental awareness. The REGATTA is ideal for bringing people together in an environmentally friendly way and for helping to form partnerships between organisations involved in sustainable development and at the same time promoting those groups to the general public.
