It is worth pointing that logos assist companies in gaining their products recognized and known in the world market. In other words, logos signify the individuality of a company. But for that to happen, it is of paramount importance that logos should be simple and designed in such a way that they appeal to the target audience. A strong, virile and masculine look is recommended for car logos, as cars are the passion of speed lovers especially men and boys.
There are three kinds of car logos, namely, symbol logos, text logos, and combination logos. Symbol logos are very popular and special kinds of symbols are normally used to represent the brand name. For example, famous car companies such as Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault use symbols for logos that are very unique and leave a lasting impression.
On the other hand, in text logos, the names of car companies are written in a style that suits the company requirements. For example, Toyota, Mazda and Fiat use text logos that are also very famous. Combination logos can be defined as a blend of symbols and texts. Generally speaking, combination logos place symbols and text in juxtaposition. Few examples of combination logos are Rover, BMW and Lotus.
Car logos usually come in a wide array of shapes, sizes and colors. It has been noticed that car logo stickers are commonly used as fundraisers for teams and colleges. At present, car logos appear even on bags, caps and t-shirts depending on the popularity of car name or brand.
When talking about popular car logos, the BMW logo is among the most popular car logos, it is more or less a rounded, stylized representation of a spinning propeller blade. The pivotal factor here is that BMW build military airplane engines originally. The world famous Chevrolet logo was inspired by wallpaper in a French hotel where William C. Durant stayed for around two months.
The Chrysler logo has been altered quite a lot in the last two or three years. As Chrysler's been sold to Cerberus, they have opted for the Pentastar design.
