Many who join this business take the no’s personally, become frustrated, and quit. It is very important that you learn to be thick-skinned, and not sensitive. If you are the sensitive type who gets your feelings hurt easily, you may want to consider another business.
Conversely, if you are able to shrug it off and realize that it probably has nothing to do with you, you will be fine. Not everybody wants a home business. Many are content just going to work every day and collecting their paycheck. That is okay. Spend your time on people who are interested in what you have to offer.
Most of my friends have no interest in my MLM business. They think that what I am doing is great, but it just holds no appeal for them. That is why you want to move beyond your warm market (family and friends). There are people out there who are looking for what you have to offer. They are just chomping at the bit to find a home business that fits their style.
A large part of the population knows nothing about this business. Some of them just need someone to give them the facts, and they will dive right in. That is where you come in. In your daily conversations, advertising, online marketing, etc., you have the opportunity to share what you know.
They just need information. Never try to convince or push people into making a decision. Just provide the facts and let them make up their own minds. Nobody likes to be sold or pressured.
If you love your products, relate the benefits of using them. If you are sold on your company, share the reasons why. This alone can lead a person to want to join you. If they hear excitement in your voice, they may want to get in on the fun.
The fact remains that there are those who will never want your products, and will never want to become involved in your business opportunity. Accept that fact from the very beginning. Many more people will say no than yes. If you know that going in, you will not experience the level of disappointment of those who are unaware of this fact.
So, can you handle rejection in MLM? Of course you can, if you keep these things in mind:
Do not take rejection personally.
This business is not for everyone.
Move beyond your warm market.
Provide information. Do not try to convince.
Know that more people will reject what you are offering than will accept.
