Console tables serve as a storage system and a home décor accent. When choosing a console table for your home, select a table based on the size of your entryway, the look you want to create and what you will place on or in the entryway tables. If you have a contemporary decorating scheme, consider a console table with sleek lines and a glass or mirrored top. You can find antique wooden console tables to match French or Tuscan decorating themes, or you may prefer the basic beauty of Mission-style design. Whether your tastes for décor lean towards simple lines or intricate carvings, you're sure to find a console table that will enhance the look of your home.
To create a striking accent in your foyer, an unusual table lamp is the perfect accessory which can be placed on your console table. For an Asian-inspired touch to your décor, Chinese porcelain figurines and teapots can be easily turned into unique table lamps. You can find porcelain vases shaped like animals or traditional characters, with an exquisite blue and white hand painting of classic Ming dynasty motifs. You can also choose brass finish candlestick table lamps for a more classic look. These tall lamps will not take up a lot of space and add the feel of height to the space.
Wall mirrors with decorative frames hung above console tables can really enhance your walls and add depth and dimension to a small space.
