If you want to run comfortably, it can be achieved under all circumstances. The weather in Connecticut is severe in some degree. Once, I ran in a windy and snowy weather that the door was not easy to open. I almost knocked down by the wind when I walked on the icy road.
Within a minutes, however, I felt at ease, although my eyebrows was covered with ice and my skins were full of sweat. I clearly know the information that if a man dress in a wrong way, he would be frozen, but I felt that I was in a warm day as if it is summer, because my cashmere sweaters, hats, gloves and nylon coat all next to my skin, which made me feel the taste of fun.
On the running course, we will meet all kinds of environments, but the most dangerous climate is torridness. Even in the cool weather, as a runner's metabolism by-products in his body, it will produce a lot of hot, which can reach to thirty times than the static condition. If the surrounding air is cool, the body heat will be dissipated through the skin easily, so the temperature will not be on an increase.
But if you run in hot temperature weather, it will not be the case. As the hot air around, your body heat is not easy to be distributed, so the temperature will increase. Especially when you insist on running, the body temperature may increase to the danger point, which is about one hundred and four degrees of Fahrenheit or we can say forty degrees in Celsius.
It is lucky to know that within a small temperature gap, the function of human activity can stay in a good state, therefore, a proper balance will be kept between cold and hot.
It will open its temperature regulator as long as there are any signs of high heat. It is indicated by experiment that under the temperature of eighty-five degrees Fahrenheit or we can say thirty degrees Celsius, people are likely to be in the most comfortable environment.
The human body can make the hot adjust enginery work if the temperature go up three or four degrees. First of all, the skin blood vessels will expand, so that the body's heating blood can flow up, thus bringing the heat into the atmosphere. This may explain why some people's skin appears red in hot weather. In the next place, there will appear an increase of the heart beat rate and blood flow, so that it can make a higher radiator efficiency of vessels in the skin. If these functions are sufficient to maintain a stable body temperature, it will not cause other changes. However, assuming that the air temperature continues to rise, the body will use its reserve forces, which is sweat.
