Brazil is Getting Ready for the World Cup 2006

Brazil’s soccer team arrived to Switzerland on Monday to begin its two-week preparation for the Soccer World Cup 2006. Brazil is looking forward to acquire its second World Championship in a row, sixth during Brazil’s soccer history. Brazil’s team will stay at the city of Weggis until the first days of June, time when they will travel to Germany.

Brazil’s soccer team arrived to Switzerland on Monday to begin its two-week preparation for the Soccer World Cup 2006. Brazil is looking forward to acquire its second World Championship in a row, sixth during Brazil’s soccer history. Brazil’s team will stay at the city of Weggis until the first days of June, time when they will travel to Germany.

Some of the member’s of Brazil’s lineup who play with European teams arrived earlier to the hotel. This list includes players like: Dida, Kaka, Cafu, Gilberto Silva and Ronaldo. Only Juninho, Ze Roberto and Lucio, who traveled apart, didn’t get to Switzerland on Monday. The hotel, were the Brazilian squad is off limits for anyone without specific authorization.

The Brazilian players were expected by a group of people. Among them, there were fans, journalists and a 40 people security team, to make sure enthusiasts wouldn’t get too close to their idols.

First practice is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. One day after the soccer players undergo physical examinations near Lucerne. Brazil selected the city of Weggis for their practice after choosing between approximately 40 cities all around the world that offered them a place to start the final training, for example: United Arab Emirates and France.

Weggis has been transformed for the arrival of the soccer players: a 5,000 seat arena, a media center and some other facilities were created for this event. Brazil will play 2 friendly games in Switzerland: on May 30, against FC Lucerne in Basel and the other one on June 4 against New Zealand in Geneva.
