A product becomes a brand when it becomes the market leader and is a name to be reckoned by a large number of customers. But brand building in today's fast growing markets is a daunting task and certain best rewarding techniques need to be envisaged in order to rule the market. No sooner you launch a product, you are followed by your competitor and you have a neck-to-neck competition where every product features are mimicked and at every stage in market penetration, newer methods in marketing campaigns are explored.

Above all, you should be able to move according to the trend. In the IT industry, the vendors of desktops and notebooks continuously innovate themselves and bring new introductions in the market on a regular basis. Earlier, it was desktop, then laptop and now the trend is for tablet PCs.

Relate to a famous personality: The whole array of products today are named after famous personalities like Choco Chanel having his brands named after him covering fashion clothing to perfumes. This helps establishing a brand identity. The organizations often get their products endorsed by famous sportspersons or film stars so that consumers can imitate the product usage as done by them.

Hold revolutionary marketing campaigns: Today, with the increasing use of internet, online medium is a good choice to allure the customers. In whatever medium you choose, the message to your audience should be very clear. A product with a good logo, a slogan is sure to build up as a brand. Choosing an online medium can be effective in the sense that there can be a two-way interaction and communication i.e. between a customer and a seller through the use of emails, newsletters, forums etc. and a seller can gauge a customer's response faster.

Provide tailor:made solutions to your customers: You should have enough category of brands which should be suitable to individual requirements. For example, if you take the toiletries, under the soap category there should be different kinds of soaps for particular set of consumers. A customer who has a dry skin may like to use a soap with emollients and moisturizers. Initially, Dove was only a soap, later it was expanded as a dove shampoo, dove moisturizer etc.

Few other techniques can also be explored like co-branding where a brand is associated with another brand to boost up it's image. Dell computers associates with smaller computer dealers online to let the customers know that they are better.

A brand may be advertised together with another brand. Intel chip is used in Dell computers and the advertisement appear together benefiting both.

These techniques if implemented properly will definitely help you to build up your brand faster.
