Steroid side effects which are typically listed are the follwing:
Steroid side effects: acne, balding, liver damage, gynocomastia (or “bitch tits”), high cholesterol, increased aggression (or “roid rage”), kidney damage, stunted growth, testicle shrinkage, and there are some other steroid side effects which are commonly listed but we’ll have a brief look at one of these commonly listed steroid side effects.
The steroid side effect of Gynocomastia, or commonly referred to as “Gyno”, or even more commonly referred to as “bitch tits”, is a nasty steroid side effect that affects the breast tissue in males. When certain steroids enter the body they can convert to estrogen. An excess amount of that estrogen then targets the receptors in the breast tissue, causing lumps to form while the appearance of female like breast tissue can occur.
Not only does gyno affect the appearance of the male chest, it also affects the feel. Often not discussed when speaking of gyno as a steroid side effect, as many get caught up only in the appearance of the breast, there is also the very tender feeling which occurs in the nipple. A small lump can be felt underneath the nipple, ranging from the size of a small pea, upwards to golf ball proportions in more extreme cases. This lump starts off as an “itching” type feel, then soon develops into a very tender area, the itching may continue as well.
Gyno can occur with various steroids, and there are a lesser variety of steroids that don’t cause the excess estrogen conversion. It is always best to consult an anabolic steroid research guide or anabolic steroid online forums to research which compounds tend to carry the steroid side effect of gyno. There are compounds such as Nolvadex which work to counter the effect of gyno occurring, thus lessoning and possibly eliminating the steroid side effect of Gynocomastia. Even when gyno is occurring, and already formed, Nolvadex can be used to shrink or eliminate gyno in some cases. Other options are surgical removal.
Mentally gyno can be very difficult to deal with. Here one is attempting to develop a very muscular, masculine, physique through the use of anabolic steroids and the practice of bodybuilding, and then the user begins to develop…breasts! It becomes completely counter productive to the image the user is formulating in his mind as wanting to transform into.
