(1) Set up a place for learning and only study in that place! Establish a silent room that will facilitate concentration without distractions. Some potential examples would be a library, a vacant classroom, or your bedroom. You will want to create the behavior of studying when you are in this special place. So it is best to not use your special place for other activities like daydreaming, watching TV, or playing games, etc.
BE SURE YOUR SPECIAL PLACE HAS:
(a) A comfy chair, but not excessively comfortable
(b) Your writing desk or table
(c) Excellent illumination
(d) Proper ventilation
BE SURE YOUR SPECIAL PLACE DOESN'T HAVE:
(a) Distracting views
(b) A telephone
(c) Distracting music
(d) A large screen TV
(e) A companion who talks a lot
(f) A refrigerator filled with distractions
(2) Break up your homework into tiny, short-range goals.
(a) Set up small highly specific projects like, "I am going to study my creative writing from 1 PM to 2 PM. Otherwise you will set yourself up to be unsuccessful.
(b) Set a reachable work goal for the quantity of time you are able to set aside. For example: finish reading chapter fifteen in my biology book, or complete a final version of my history paper, etc. Set your goal at the specific time that you are ready to sit down and study, just before you begin. Set reasonable goals. You may do more than reach your goal, but set a reasonable goal even if it seems way too easy.
(3) Test Phobias
(a) Some people mostly experience physical symptoms, like faintness, nausea, or feeling hot or cold, etc.
(b) Other people experience mostly emotional symptoms, like feeling irritable, crying, or getting frustrated quickly.
(c) The main problem with anxiousness is that it can make one have a memory block. Or it could make one have thoughts that are racing out of control.
(d) Although you may currently feel some level of anxiousness when taking exams, you can learn to diminish that anxiety, or even completely eliminate it!
(e) Feelings of anxiety and the resultant stress are usually the main causes of a lack of the ability to focus your concentration. Stress can also be the cause of a mental block when you try to recollect information.
(f) Hypnosis CD's can be utilized to relax your mind and focus your concentration. As your mind calms down, your ability to stay focused will increase. Similarly, a calm mind enhances your ability to retain information, and recall it when it is needed.
(g) Hypnosis CD's can also be utilized to program your mind for the positive expectation of tranquility and the ability to remember information during an exam. This is valuable for diminishing or getting rid of test anxiety.
