Martial arts, best-known as sports such as Judo, Karate, Wushu and etc., were originated as forms of self-defence or attack in which you fight with your hands and feet. There are various types of martial arts all around the world. Each of them has unique features that differentiate it from other martial arts. From the ancient era, martial arts were practiced, until now it has become a trend of sports or even more, professional players who compete for their country in the international arena – Olympic! Undoubtedly, martial arts have some decent characteristics to make people want to learn it.

First of all, why do people enrol themselves in sports and exercises? It’s definitely about physical health. The increasing of people’s body weight is directly proportional the numbers of the fast food restaurants. Therefore, we do need some exercises to get rid of those fats. In fact, martial arts are not only for controlling your body weight; it also could strengthen your heart functions, improve your stamina, balance, strength, and organs functions.

Parents always worry that how they could raise up their children to make them become independent and discipline. Obviously martial arts could be the answer for parents. Martial arts not only purely focus on physical attacks, yet they emphasize on the internal growth. These are commonly called as “life skills” - discipline, self esteem, self control, courage, patience, focus, determination, motivation, etc. There is nothing you can compare martial arts to the video games and TV programs.

As we know, martial arts are forms of self-defence. Other than being taught on the self-defence movements and skills, you will also be taught for some soft skills to avoid conflicts, fights and how to resolve conflict arisen. Even you are practicing martial arts, it’s not necessary for you to always response in violence too. For the bullies, martial arts could teach them to learn how to respect people and calm themselves down when they feel like bullying someone!

You must have heard about exercise will decrease someone’s aggression behaviours. Martial arts are on the list. Parents will consider sending their children to martial arts school to cure their headache when they found out their children misbehave at school or at home since they can do nothing about it. The structure of martial arts classes usually could help to deal with behaviour issues. However, the results might vary for individuals and it all depends on the dynamic and the effectiveness of communication between the instructor and the learner.

A point that is not negligible is what most people do while they are free? Sitting on the couch and watching TV? Or loitering around the town without any purposes? The martial arts school could be a great place for you to pass the time. The cohesion between the instructors and the classmates will make you feel the sense of belonging. Eventually, you will love the companionship of the martial arts school. In short, you are not alone!
