Article writing doesn't have to be a daunting task

Writing anything can seem very difficult to a lot of people. Getting into the right mindset and keeping the right attitude can go a long way toward overcoming seemingly insurmountable problems.

Article writing for an ezine, or for any occasion for that matter, doesn't have to be a daunting task. Most people, when presented with the idea of having to write an article, essay, or some other writing breathe a heavy sigh and say,"I can't do that. I can't write."...the main concern being that they're not good enough, smart enough, clever enough, etc... to write something someone else would want to read. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is that unless you are specifically trying to write a scholarly work for the intellectual crowd, you generally want to keep your work simple and clear so that the masses clearly understand the message you're trying to convey. The best way to do this is by writing conversationally. Simply write the way you would talk to someone in a normal conversation. In doing so, your writing becomes easier to do and easier to understand.

Finding a topic to write about doesn't have to be a lot of trouble either. All you really have to do to get off to a good start is ask yourself, conversationally, what you want to write about. For instance, when I decided to write this article I asked myself what I wanted to write about and came up with a blank. Then I thought, "Writing can be such a pain.", and bingo, I had my topic. I decided to write about writing. I didn't labor over it, or take an hour structuring my thoughts. You don't have to spend a lot of time laboring over a topic. Don't worry about your expertise, or lack of it. Write what you know about, and trust me, you know a lot, whether you think you do or not. Once you come up with a topic, you've won the battle. From there you simply write around the topic.

This doesn't mean that you shouldn't take your writing seriously. After all, you do want to be taken seriously. I'm just saying that writing doesn't have to be a tremendously painful process.

If you plan on getting exposure through article writing, then you're going to have to write articles, and your goal is to get them out there so people can see them. Your articles won't do you or your potential readers any good if those articles are just lounging around in your notepad or wordpad. You can tweak and edit until the end of time hoping to write the perfect article, but in the end, if people can't read it because "it's not quite finished yet", other imperfect writers will be passing you by with their imperfect articles gaining exposure. Again, exposure can only be had when your articles are exposed...and what a great feeling it is to read your articles after they're submitted.
