If the officiate on your wedding day is a rabbi it is very important to ask their approval for your Ketubah text long before the wedding. If it is an Orthodox wedding, your rabbi must approve the Orthodox Ketubah text. Even though an interfaith Ketubah text is not an official document in accordance with the written Jewish law, a lot of rabbis still have very strict policies on the subject of what kind of Ketubah text they will (or will not) allow on an interfaith Ketubah. So upon purchasing the Ketubah for your wedding you need to consider this so you don’t have any problems on the day of your wedding ceremony. If your wedding is not traditional and it’s not a rabbi who’s going to marry you then you can have your Ketubah text say whatever you prefer.
Another thing to remember is that every rabbi has different policies when it comes to Ketubah text. In order to get this you don’t need to ask them about the general information on what a Ketubah text should be. A good thing to do is show them the exact Ketubah text that you want to be included on the document. Make sure that to show the actual text to the rabbi, so if unfortunately didn’t approve the Ketubah text you can change it in time to have the new contract for your wedding day.
These things are very important so you need to take them into consideration, if you want to get married with a Jewish ceremony you should be careful about the details accompanied with it. Since you have decided to get married you have also chosen a life-long partner to share your life with. Marriage is a sacred ceremony that binds two people together for eternity and your Ketubah text will be a reminder of your responsibilities to your husband or wife.
