Knowing the most appropriate for color postcard printing will spell the success or failure of your postcards. There are a lot to consider when it comes to color choices in postcard printing. As a guide, below are a few tips that should give you an idea of what you should do.

When trying to save money:

If you want to save money in postcard printing, the best color you can use is of course black and white. More specifically though, you should use grayscale colors. Using these colors means that you can print your postcards cheaply as only two basic colors are used. Do not worry though as to its effects since black and white printing still carries with it a sense of classical beauty that never grows old. In fact, there are plenty of design themes or postcards that can use black and white printing for a great effect.

When trying to cheer people up:

Now, if you want to cheer people up with your custom postcards, it is best to keep your color postcards pretty bright and upbeat. So usually print postcards in this category have brighter photographs or graphics. The brighter and more vibrant your color scheme is, the better people can be cheered up. So if you are making a souvenir color postcard, or just want to create a postcard that makes people happy, you have to print with almost all the colors of the rainbow that you can manage.

When trying to convince people:

If you are however trying to convince people with your postcards (such as in marketing postcards) the amount of color does not really matter. In fact the lesser the colors the better so that people can focus on the proper message of the postcard. So it is best to use only 2-3 colors. These should relate to your company or product in some way or another. If necessary though you should try printing in full color if you have a good full color advertising photograph of your main product or service.

When trying to intrigue people:

Finally if you are trying to intrigue or mystify people (like teasers), the best colors are usually dark ones. The dark of course connotes mystery and something hidden. So if you are planning to entice readers, such as in the case with advertising or you just want a personal mysterious postcard to send people it is best to stick to black or to darker colored hues whenever possible.

Now you know the best colors to use depending on the situation of your postcard printing.
