Though the title event management company suggests that the company only provides services in managing an event, event management companies have come a long way. In a world where most people work on a time crunch and good service is the need of the hour, an event management company fits the need perfectly.
Today, an event management company conceptualizes the event, studies the market, identifies the target audience, explores new avenues, helps hunt sponsors, and finally creates and manages the entire event.

In all major events that we see today, an event management company ensures that everything goes like clockwork - from the time a person enters an event venue to the time he goes out. In fact, with the growing importance of promotions and on ground activities in our country, an event management company is considered by many as one of the most effective in strategic marketing, communication and advertising.

Generally speaking, an event management company services two target markets – corporate and social. Corporate markets include small and big companies, charities, trusts and nonprofit organizations. Amongst these, charities and NGOs need event management companies to host fundraisers, receptions and competitions, among other events, to expand their public support base and raise funds. Event management companies also host trade shows, conventions, corporate picnics, parties and meetings for staff members, board members or stockholders. Different event management companies have different billing modes. Some bill for the amount of service extended, some for the quality of service, some for the nature of event planned, while some others base their bill on their or the client’s brand image and reputation.

Great sponsorships compliment good event management. Every event management company needs to network within the industry not only to get contracts, but also to get sponsors. A good sponsor means major monetary gains. Yet, the monetary gains may not necessarily be direct. An event management company needs to keep varied sponsorship options open. Some sponsors may spend in kind rather than cash. For example, a beverages company might offer sponsorship by giving away free drinks. Though this does not bring liquid assets for the event management company, the company saves a lot of money because it is one expense less.
In a nutshell, an event management company designs the basic framework, prepares the marketing plans, hunts for sponsors, works on the logistics, locates the site/destination, contacts vendors, hires performers, prints/mails invitation cards, creates menus, looks after the stage/lights, books the artistes, arranges for transport for different people, and on the D' Day co-ordinates, plans and finalises every aspect of the event.
