Ageing vision: needs constant care and protection

Ageing vision is a common problem arising in old age. By taking of few things such as regular check up of eyes, healthy diet and good care of eyes you can easily maintain clear vision even in old age.

Increasing age leaves many affects on the health and life style of people. As you get older you have to take more care of your health as well as your eye sight. Generally in old age, people face reduced eye sight. This vision related problem of old age are called as age-related eye disease. This ageing vision can be controlled to a large extend by taking care of diet and working schedule. Some of the major eye related diseases are cataract, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age related macular degeneration. People of more than 60 and 65 years are at great risk of ageing vision diseases.

With the age vision becomes blurred and also eye lens loses elasticity. Although old age is a major reason behind poor eye vision but if people take enough care of eye in old age then it can be cured to a large extent. Ageing vision problems such as double vision, black spots, sudden loss of clear vision, and pain in eyes and redness in eyes if diagnosed well at time then it can be treated easily. Whenever any such problems occur then for right treatment better is to consult a good ophthalmologist as early as possible. Go for treatment just as you find difficulty in reading or any other noticeable change in vision. Ageing vision if noticed carefully then it is very easy to maintain proper eye vision even in old age.

For preventing poor ageing vision always wear a good pair of sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection. Maintain a diet schedule of food containing vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E. These vitamins enriched food are a good source of eye-building nutrient beta-carotene. Include variety of fruits and vegetables in food such as carrots, apricot, green leafy vegetables such as spinach and cod liver oil.

However, for good vision in advancing age you should regularly consult your doctor at some time gap. Even if you do not find any problem then also you can visit your doctor at regular interval. If you take regular care of your eyes then it is not difficult to maintain healthy vision in old age.
