It is important to follow some Dos and Don’ts if you have decided to travel to India. These tips and advice help travelers to have a smooth and comfortable journey. |

•Carry light luggage and avoid heavy bags. Always pack clothes made up of material like cotton, linen, silk and rayon if your India tour package consists of mid or southern India.
•You can bring pashmina shawls and wraps for Indian winters.
•If you are planning to visit temples in India then always take off your shoes. Also wear hygienic pair of socks.
•Take along antibacterial gel or wipes and use them constantly.
•Bring a toilet paper along with you and other necessary items.
•Beware of tap water and always go for purified drinking water to prevent any water borne diseases.
•If you are visiting India in the season of summers then be prepared to face hot, humid and dirt air.
•Try to learn some of the common language spoken in India. Some of the common terms like namaste and others.
•If you have chosen cheaper travel then bring along an airline pillow for comfort on crowded trains and buses.
•Take along all necessary medicines with you to avoid any medical condition.
Some Don’ts to follow:
• In Indian restaurants 5 to 10% tip is customary.
• Don’t avoid taking cabs as they are quite cheaper. Always sit in a cab with meter and negotiate the price prior of sitting.
• Avoid taking along shoes with heels. You can find high-tech facilities available at some of the luxurious hotels. Try to include such hotels in your India tour package.
• Don’t take along expensive jewelry, bags and other accessories as thieves are not less in India. Don’t show too much skin in India because you never know what kind of people you meet and encounter.
