Approximately, four from five people aging between 12 and 24 have acne problems. They may develop it at some point or they may have it incessantly. Nevertheless, it is heartbreaking for one to have acne concerns. Some people are unlucky enough to have acne even at their 40’s or 50’s. This major skin problem is caused by several factors like hormonal imbalance, menstrual cycles, pregnancy, use of birth control pills or even stress. Even though it is hard to stop acne from forming, there are ways to treat it and means to reduce and minimize the scars.
There is this wrong notion that acne breakout is caused by the foods ingested. Actually, medical studies suggest that food has little effect on developing acne. It is brought upon by harshly scrubbing the skin and using strong soaps or too commercially and unfriendly skin products. Therefore, acne is basically developed out of skin irritations. Different risk factors to acne formations are oil-based cosmetics, use of cortisone, genes, and skin pressure and friction against other things, exposure to greasy substances.
Acne problems may result to low self-esteem and irritability. It is not easy to have this skin issue especially in this society where physical beauty and spotless complexion is a major issue. However, there are available and easy to reach dermatologists these days to help you with any skin concern you may have. For persistent pimples, inflamed cysts or any form of acne, you can pay a visit to the nearest skin clinic in your area. It is better if you seek medical attention for any serious skin problem to avoid deep scarring that results to skin damage. Various methods in treating acne include antibiotics, topical treatments, isotretinoin, oral contraceptives, and a lot more. Treatments vary from person to person and depending on the skin type. Not all treatments work well for everybody. Effects are based on how the skin reacts to a particular treatment.
The best way to prevent acne from forming is cleanliness. Cleanse your skin daily with mild soaps. Do not use highly commercialized and chemically rich products. These can only irritate your skin. And always keep your hands clean as you are prone to touching your face all throughout the day. Bring with you clean handkerchief to wipe away sweats and dirt before they clog your pores. Lastly, never prick on any blemish, acne or pimple for this is sure to leave a scar on your skin that will keep on haunting you.
